Who we are
Aestune is a mobile application developed and operated by Hyperfocused Lab, based in Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What information we collect
Photos you upload
When you use the Vibe → Sound feature and upload a photo, that image is temporarily transmitted to our AI service provider (OpenAI) to generate music recommendations. We do not store your photos on our servers. Once the analysis is complete, the photo is discarded.
Text you enter
Any vibe descriptions or artist/song names you type are sent to our AI provider to generate recommendations. These inputs are not stored by us after your session.
Device language
We detect your device’s language setting to return results in your preferred language. This data is used only within your session and is not stored.
Usage data
We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or behavioural tracking data.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Generate music recommendations based on your photo or description
- Generate lifestyle vibe recommendations based on your music taste
- Display results in your device’s language
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party services
OpenAI
Your photo and text inputs are processed by OpenAI’s API. OpenAI has its own privacy policy, available at openai.com/privacy. We use OpenAI only to process your request and do not send any identifying information alongside your content.
Google Shopping & Google Maps
When you tap a “Shop” or “Find” pill in the results, you are redirected to Google’s services in your browser. Aestune does not receive any data from these interactions.
Spotify & YouTube links
Recommendation links may open Spotify or YouTube. Once you leave the app, those platforms’ own privacy policies apply.
Data storage and saved results
Any recommendations you save in the app are stored locally on your device only. Aestune does not upload or back up your saved results to any server.
Children’s privacy
Aestune is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
